Since you’ve made it this far on my site: Helloo, I’m Daniel Portillo! A creative from a land far south in Central America. 

Enthusiastic about anything, but I’m mostly drawn to art and media made with love for the craft, where you can feel the heart behind every frame, every note, every detail. I consider myself cut from the same cloth as movies like Ratatouille and Ford vs. Ferrari, where europeans push through every obstacle for the pursuit of greatness, because nothing else matters to them. That’s the energy I’m chasing. Whether it’s the raw emotion in a song or the meticulous process behind a brand’s case study, I’m inspired by people who push the boundaries of their craft just to see how far they can go.

In my professional career, I’ve worked with brands big and small. Creating everything from event branding to animation to illustration. The projects that stick with me though, are the ones where I get to marinate in the process and push my creativity to the limit. Illustrating a cyberpunk-inspired animated film for a crypto startup or designing a retro-themed brand package for a real estate giant, projects like these gave me space to experiment with storytelling and style.

I’m also an unapologetic fan of art-books, I have a collection of them. Literally my favorite thing. When I’m not designing or flipping through a well crafted page, I’m probably trying to make fancy coffee at home, annoying my cats, hanging out with my siblings or friends. At the end of the day, I just love being creative and surrounding myself with people who share that same passion.
